Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)
Regulates telecom services, tariffs, and consumer interests. -
Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT)

Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF)
Funds rural and remote area telecom services. -
Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) – [Merged with BSNL in 2023]
Originally responsible for BharatNet, a rural broadband project.

Joint initiative between IIT Madras and the Government of India (supported by DoT/C-DOT).

✅ 3. Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate

Though under MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and IT), it supports telecom equipment testing, EMI/EMC, and cybersecurity standards that DoT leverages.

A public-private partnership between the DoT, academia, and industry.

Located at various IITs and IISc (e.g., IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay).
